Location of the EGS Field on the Sky
This picture shows the position and the size of the EGS field on the sky. For orientation the constellations of Ursa Major, Ursa Minor and Polaris are given.
The Extended Groth Strip (EGS) is studied in the All-Wavelength Extended Groth Strip International Survey (AEGIS). This survey is observing the same area of the sky using the world's most powerful telescopes on the ground and in space, including the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope. The aim of AEGIS is to study the properties of galaxies over the last half of the Hubble time by using both deep imaging covering all major wavebands from X-ray to radio and optical spectroscopy over a large area of sky.
