VLA and optical
The elliptical galaxy Centaurus A, also known as NGC 5128, is well known for its dramatic dusty lanes of dark material and its central supermassive black hole, which ejects material with a relativistic speed from the nucelus of the galaxy.
This image shows, that these jets are not only visible in the optical, but also emmit in radio wavelengths. By taking radio observations of the jets separated by a decade, astronomers have determined that the inner parts of the jets are moving at about one half of the speed of light.
