ESA/Hubble publications in 2017

Hubble data was used in 743 peer reviewed papers published in 2017, as of 4 December. Out of these, 282 (38%) had an astronomer from an ESA Member State as the main author. This map shows the percentage distribution of published papers within the ESA Member States.

The ESA affiliation is based on the first author only. ESA affiliation is also only counted for the primary ESA country affiliated with the first author, i.e. if an author is affiliated with Italy and the United Kingdom, only Italy is attributed with the publication. Likewise, if an author is affiliated with China and France, France is attributed with the publication and counted in the ESA metrics.
