Hubble in cross-section

This video shows the Hubble Space Telescope stripped of its outer protective layers. The Optical Telescope Assembly, consisting of struts, the 2.4-metre primary mirror and the secondary mirror takes up around two thirds of the telescope's length: this is the telescope proper. Behind the primary mirror, Hubble's scientific instruments and guidance sensors are located, along with the systems that keep the spacecraft operating.
